Re: MP Login Commands
Hi Ajin_1
MP or GSP has a different IP from a normal IP. You must be having normal IP of the server. Multiple users can do ssh/telnet from normal IP, but from MP only one user can log in. So, you need to ask for the IP of MP and its login credentials to log in.
you can do folllowing things from MP console
1. you can check server hardware health status by command vfp
2. Check logs & clear flash amber glowing at the front of server.
3. we can do graceful shutdown , reboot , power on & power off from MP console.
for more details refer attached document for GSP & MP console

SolutionThe rp8400 uses an MP interface with a few submenus.
Welcome to the rp8400 Management Processor (c) Copyright 1995-2002 Hewlett-Packard Co., All Rights Reserved. Version 4.25 MP MAIN MENU: CO: Consoles VFP: Virtual Front Panel (partition status) CM: Command Menu CL: Console Logs SL: Show chassis Logs HE: Help X: Exit Connection MP>

To get back to the MP from the Console, use the CTRL+b key sequence.

Use the VFP to monitor the status of the cells that are a part of the partition. This will also show you POST results during a partition/cell reset.
Use the SL to view event logs. This is good for viewing errors during POST or otherwise.
From the Command Menu the following commands are useful for gathering information about the system:
- PS - use this to view details about various components such as cell boards and cabinet details.
- CP - shows what cells are in what partitions
- DF - displays FRU information for components in the system (part and serial #'s, etc)
- SYSREV - reports the firmware revisions of system components.
Reference the document posted earlier for details. Also, use the HE command from the Main Menu for some good information.
