N Class Cannot connect through console

Hi, I am trying to connect to a N class server with 'remote', 'local' and 'lan' console ports available. I have a laptop with only secureCRT installed. Could not get any display. What kind of cable should I use? Thanks.

Re: N Class Cannot connect through console

Use a standard PC serial cable designed to connect to a printer (known as a crossover or null modem cable). On the PC, use Hyperterminal configured connect to the appropriate PC COM port. THe console is a simple ASCII connection.

SecureCRT is an encrypted communication program and will not work for console communication. You need a plain ASCII terminal emulator. Use SecureCRT for LAN communication, but after youve loaded the SSH (Secure Shell) code onto HP-UX. There's a lot of details needed to setup SSH.
