I want to update the firware on a non volume group system vg00 Nike Array while the OS is running, what commnad can i use to perfom this function ?

I don't think you can do a firmware upgrade on-line. The upgrade does bus resets, you would get timeouts. It would be a mess.
I think you should plan for some downtime. One of the HP folks would be able to answer this more definitively.

Just to add, even though this thread is old,
Downloading f/w using software.hp.com/SUPPORT_PLUS/ mstm, you will need to rename the file because the default filename is too large for stm.
The filemanager in mstm is also a little cumbersome, so you may want to move the file to the default location of /var/adm/sw/ I think.. at least put it to wherever mstm defaults to.
