Power specs K and D class

we are currently building a new datacentre to house all our remote systems, HP kit moving in will be a K360, a K370 a K570 and a D280 (all rack mounted)

I have found the specs (20amp dedicated circuit for Ks and 5Amp for D) but need to know if the connectors (Commando plugs?) are the same and what the specs of those are so I can pass them to the builders/cabling people, the systems are throughout Europe and wont be moving for a few months so we cannot examine them individually

thanks in advance

Re: Power specs K and D class

As Jimmy Durante would say.......

Stop 'da music!

Ya got got problems son, problems.............

First of all, go to

http://outfield.external.hp.com/cgi-bin/spi/main.pl

This is HPPartSurfer and it will list all the parts for all the machines including the cabinets.

First.....

The CPU's themselves accept a wide array of input voltages, so I don't expect there to be a problem. Just to be on the safe side I suggest you study the HPPartsurfer listings for the boxes and compare them against what country the boxes are coming from (assuming they are not all from the UK).

Second........

What are NOT interchangeable are the switches on the right top front of the cabinet, the fans mounted inside of the cabinet at the back top and the PDU which is basically a long black power strip located in the right rear of the cabinet. These are specific to a particular voltage. (Yes, I'm a CE, no there are no other parts to worry about in the cabinet).

You mention amperage for these circuits, but not the voltage. I will *assume* you mean a 220V circuit. Given that the PDU has a L6-20P male plug. However, your electricians will know better than I whether this meets your electrical code or not.

A 110V circuit will use a 5-20P male plug.

If you plan to install a UPS and also have battery backups inside the cabinets (PowerTrust is the name HP uses over here) please post so here, there are certain types of UPS's which are not compatible with HP's battery backups.

Re: Power specs K and D class

Paul

thanks, didnt realise part surfer was available externally

okay all systems are coming from Belgium and should already be running 220V, this is what we plan to have on our datacentre hookups

on part surfer I found two different cables, one for Europe and one for UK

the UK one (8120-6898) gives the following connections

C19(F) plug for PDU
BS1363 plug for power input

the Europe one (8120-6899) doesnt say what connectors, would the PDU connector be the same
so we could just order some UK spec cables?

I am looking into the UPS as there is a large installation going on and I dont have details yet of type/model

thanks for your help
