Re: Problems with RP7400
This really belongs in the HPux System Admin area:
Did you "tune" the kernel??
Did you increase swap?
Did you install a new version of the OS, or did you apply any patches?
If you used the "sam" kernel tuning option, then your machine would most likely behave slowly.
Could you post your kernel parameters, ioscan, and vg info?
live free or die

Re: Problems with RP7400
In addition to what Harry has requested.
How much swap do you have and is it distributed across more than just the internal disks?
What type of external disk array are you using?
How many informix instances are your running on this server. Peoplesloth is notorious when it comes to tuning, and being extremely system hungry!!

Re: Problems with RP7400
See http://www.hp.com/products1/unix/java/infolibrary/prog_guide/java1/measuring_sys_performance.html for a way to identify performance bottlenecks.
(even though it's java related, it still applies)
Later,
Bill

Re: Problems with RP7400
No we didnt install a new version, Hp installed a patch to recognize the CPU 750 Mhz. Because the HP-ux 11.00 dont support this CPU's.
The external disks are EMC2 8730
We only have one instance of informix.
Aparently, I dont see any bottle neck
