rp7420
I am using stand-alone rp7420 to test processors. One was incompatible with the rest and the server wouldn't power up because the cell wouldn't turn on. Replaced the incompatible one but still have same problem.
Ran RE (reset entity)in the MP, but still nothing. I'm new at these, used to Proliants.
Can anyone help?

Re: rp7420
First of all, are you sure that you put the cell board back into the proper slot?
Second, check your ps (power status) to be sure something isn't powered off. You can use the pe (power enable) command to fire things back up.
If you are still having problems, you may wish to check the system backplane (where the cell plugs into) for bent pins.
These are a good start on troubleshooting your problem. Post again if you need further assistance.
Good Luck - Tim

Re: rp7420
Hi Charles,
I got the same problem, i checked backplane and attached things, every thing seems fine. But after setting the cell into proper arrangement into cell slot and play with its switches in front it worked. I think cell design is not good. Do this i think it will solve your's problem hopefully.
Regards,
Asif Sharif
