Slow backup in Arcserve 2000

Slow backup in Arcserve 2000

ProLiant 1600 and DLT8000

The backup seems to run quite quick to begin with, around 550MB/min, but seems to tail off to a low of 10MB/min.

This has happened a couple of times now and after changing the tape drive and signal cable and terminator it seems to be resolved. I assume the terminator was faulty hence the gradual falling in speed.

Can anyone explain why this is happening?
