Re: Unable to boot 10.20 on K580 box
Look into ignite cloning. You've already got a 10.20 box, right? HP servers of like classes can be cloned. So if you've got another K class server use the make_recovery or make_tape_recovery procedure and install from this tape.
For disaster recovery this is how its done. If you're site is blown away and you need to rent a DR site in PA or KA then you send them your ignite tape.
This tape will have all the kernel settings and patches preloaded, and will as close as you can come to an exact duplicate of the production server.
# download latest ignite version for 10.20
# clean the 4 mm tape drive
# insert one of two new 4 mm tapes
# make_recovery -A -d /dev/rmt/#m (* I believe this is right for 10.20 *)
-if not -
# make_tape_recovery -x inc_entire=vg00 -I -v -a /dev/rmt/#mn (* approx. *)
Note: You should be making these on a regular basis anyway, one a month, one a week, etc.
