Re: Upgrade HP9000-N4000 (A3639A)
The N4000 can contain up to 6 HP PA-RISC 8600 processor - 550MHz. In order to do this, you will probably have to upgrade the mother board as well.

SolutionYour server will not support the 550mhz cpus.
The A3639A ran PA8500 processors at 360mhz and 440mhz on the Cuda system board.
The A3639B ran PA8600 processors at 360mhz, 440mhz and 550mhz on the Landshark board.
The A3639C ran PA8700 processors at 550mhz, 650mhz and 750mhz on the Piranha board.
You would have to get an upgrade your A3639A to either an A3639B or A3639C to install the 550s. You would also need all new Processor Support Modules.
I hope this helps.
Good Luck - Tim
