V Class - Control B
I support several G, H, I, K, N, and T class servers and to access the SP menu
I simply hit control-b (when the key is in the service mode position).
Currently I have 3 Vclass servers with control workstations conected. For those
of you who have not seen a V class, this control workstation spawns a SPP
session that loads drivers and stuff for the V server to boot. Anyway, how do I
access the SP menu on the Vclass? If i directly connect a HP 700/96 terminal to
the server's console port and try this I don't get any response either.
Thanks - Vincenzo

Re: V Class - Control B
Yes I am aware of the control workstation which leads me to my next question -
how, from the control workstation do you reboot the vclass server if the server
is hung? (Assuming you can't telnet in of course)

Re: V Class - Control B
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you, I have been out of the office for
over a week.
In answer to your question about restarting a hung V-Class system, If it is
truly hung and you have no access to the system, there are a couple of things
you might want to try. First what you want to do is TOC the system, which will
get a memory dump so the reason for the hang can be analyzed. To TOC the box
you can push the toc button by the keyswitch on the V-Class itself. The other
way is to be on the test station and in one of the shell windows type this
command "do_reset 0 4" if the system is a V2200 or V2250. To see the options of
the do_reset command type "man do_reset". If you leave the 4 off the command it
will do a hardware reset and reboot.
Hope this helps you.
