warn 008 when add 2nd disk
I just got a k580 with one 4GB disk
It boots fine. When I add a second drive, and Ive tried several drives, and different SCSI IDs, the machine wont boot. Is there some trick to adding a second drive?. Or does anybody know what might be happening? The working drive is a seagate (I believe) J5 is set to SCSI ID=6 J6 is Open which is scsi ID=0
Primary Boot Path:
fwscsi.6 (mnemonic)
10/0.6 (dec)
0a/0.6 (hex)
thanks
Jesse

Re: warn 008 when add 2nd disk
Hi,
This error indicates that there is no
bootable disk. Did you change the disk
bootable order? Is this new disk on
the same scsi chain? Is it terminated
correctly. Check to see that the system
can still boot by removing the new disk.

Re: warn 008 when add 2nd disk
I suspect that your SCSI card is configured as ID=6 ( have that box in MC/SG env?).
Try changing ID to a low ID.
Also on boot promt do a SEARCH, and SEARCH IPL to know if that disk is correctly recognized.

Maybe you just need to change primary boot path and secondary boot path on boot menu.
