Re: What is GSP?
It's an interface on newer HP servers through which you can boot, reset the server, look at logs, etc.
What exactly is it that you check for on GSP?

Re: What is GSP?
"GSP" is an acronym for "Guardian Service Processor". Here's one document describing it for the rp54xx series.

Re: What is GSP?
Very briefly, allows to to interact with some of the firmware, view logs, has it own security features, etc.
Checking every 1/2 hr? Why? If you have a stable system there is nothing to do in GSP.
If you are having troubles, the logs can be of some help but they can be cryptic to view.

SolutionI'm not sure why you have to check it every 2 hours though. If you are having issues with it, you may need to upgrade the firmware on the GSP card. Also note..there are hardware enablement patches for your GSP card.
When you are logged into the system console if you do a cntrl b, this key function will put you into your GSP card interface...from there you can type HE for HELP and see what configuration options are available to you.
NOTE: you may need to login first before you get the GSP> prompt.
hope this all helps.

Re: What is GSP?
If You invoke ctrl+B, M/C will give you MP menu, from that you can select console, VFP, Command Menu, Console Logs, Chasis Logs Menus.
