1900-8g Linkchange traps do not correspond with ifindex
Hi all,
thats special and not critical, but If a HP 1900-8G sends a linkup or -down trap, it sends a trap like this:
TrapName=linkUp
TrapMajor=3
TrapMinor=0
1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1.5=5
Object=1.3.6.1.4.1.43.1.8.69 (enterprises.43.1.8.69)
ifIndex.5=5
Timetick=0days 01:10:33.00
Packet Type=Trap
Protocol Version=SNMPv1
CommunityName=public
If you make a MIB-Walk you see that:
IF-MIB::ifIndex.1 = INTEGER: 1
IF-MIB::ifIndex.101 = INTEGER: 101
IF-MIB::ifIndex.102 = INTEGER: 102
IF-MIB::ifIndex.103 = INTEGER: 103
IF-MIB::ifIndex.104 = INTEGER: 104
IF-MIB::ifIndex.105 = INTEGER: 105
IF-MIB::ifIndex.106 = INTEGER: 106
IF-MIB::ifIndex.107 = INTEGER: 107
IF-MIB::ifIndex.108 = INTEGER: 108
IF-MIB::ifIndex.17001 = INTEGER: 17001
IF-MIB::ifIndex.17002 = INTEGER: 17002
My probleme is, that our Arp-Guard System discards traps if the ifindex do not correspond. The system do not know ifindex.5 just ifindex.105...
We use HP 2810-48g, 2848, 2512, 2524, 2610, 4204 and all of them transmit the correct value...
Does anybody know why the 4100gl doesnt send linkchange traps while the old 2512/2524 that traps send...
If someone from HP read this, please fix it.
Thanks for reading.
Paul
