3800 Switch port shows status as up, and LED's are ON but does not forward traffic
We have a 3800 Switch port shows status as up, and LED's are ON but does not forward traffic. This occurs in a 2 or 3 member stack. Physically removing the ethernet cable does not cause the LED's to change from their ON to OFF state and neither does re-connecting the cable.
Also, a "show mac-address <affected-port>" shows no entry for a device that was known to have been there previously.
Moving the cable from the affected port to a new port on the same member (not sure which port was used as new port) does re-establish traffic for the remote device.
This appears to happen in a contiguous group of N ports. Where we believe N is either 4 or 8.
We have seen this behaviour on several different stacks on the same Customer site. They have many 3800 stacks of between 2 and 3 or 4 switches in each stack.
Version of firmware is KA15.09.0019
Any suggestions?
