5406zl Routing certain protocol

Hi there

We are trying to find a solution, for routing RDP (3389) through other gateway than default gateway.

All out Internet traffic goes to the default gateway, ISP line 1. But I would like to send all RDP connections to our customers through our seconds ISP line.

Out setup is like this

Users default gateway is our HP Procurve 5406zl Swith

5406zl default gateway is our Cisco ASA5510 (ISP line 1)

ASA5505 (ISP line 2)

Our 5406zl route some traffic to the ASA5505 (ISP 2), but its defined for whole subnets, so when our users wants to connect to those subnet, they are routed to ASA5505

Hobe somebody can help me or confirm that it's not possible.

Best Regards

Dennis

Re: 5406zl Routing certain protocol

Hello,

This should be possible with Classifier-Based Service Policies.

Check out Chapter 8 of the Advanced Traffic Management Guide:

http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c03113026/c03113026.pdf

Classifier-based service policies are designed to work with existing globally configured switch-wide and port-wide settings by allowing you to select a subset of:
■ Traffic sent to or from certain ports
■ VLAN traffic
Once the traffic is selected, you can further manage it.

The following match criteria are supported in match/ignore statements for
inbound IPv4/IPv6 traffic:
■ IP source address (IPv4 and IPv6)
■ IP destination address (IPv4 and IPv6)
■ Layer 2 802.1Q VLAN ID
Layer 3 IP protocol
■ Layer 3 IP precedence bits
■ Layer 3 DSCP bits
Layer 4 TCP/UDP application port (including TCP flags)
■ VLAN ID

You'll have to do a fair bit of reading but you should be able to figure it out, the documentation is pretty solid.

Note that you might need to run SW K.15.06.0006 or later to have access to all the functionality, that's when PBR was implemented.

Best regards,
Justin
