802.1ad on mixed switch infrastructure
Hello,
following scenario: we have an infrastructure of about 20 switches (E-Series), all vlan capable 802.1q.
Now I want to use 802.1ad on a some switches, but not all.
Am I forced to replace all switches, to use 802.1ad? Or is it sufficient to replace the 'border' switches, where the vlan stacking is done (and allow jumbo packets on all switches)?
kind regards,
Joerg

Re: 802.1ad on mixed switch infrastructure
Hi Mate,
I use 802.1ad only at my border switches without Jumbo packets and have no issues. I guess it depends what your chucking down the lines.
