Adding an HP Procurve E2510-48G

Hi, we're adding an HP Procurve E2510-48G to our existing network. We have just 2 switches (3Com 4200G 48 port, 3CR17662-91), but because we are expanding, and the replacement for the 3Com's are discontinued, we were directed towards the E2510.

The 3Com's are stacked using a CX4 cable (3CR17662-91).

Would the best route to take in stacking the HP switch be adding a GBIC to the HP and one of the 3Com switches. Then use copper to connect. I know the HP will also support fiber...but not sure on the 3Com.

...or is there a better way of doing this.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There isn't any particular advantage to using the SFP ports on the 2510G, unless you want to run fibre. If it's acceptable to link the switches together at 1Gbps, then all you need is a cat5 cable.
