We have a Cisco 2960 that our MPLS provider brought in with our new MPLS network. We are having issues passing our new Data VLAN information across our MPLS network. We have 14 remote sites that all need to connect back to a new VMware Infrastructure that we are building. The Cisco is a 24 Port 2960, with the first twelve ports set for our data VLAN 10, Ports 13-24 are setup for our Phone VLAN 100, and our Internet Lag. Port 12 runs to our new infrastructure switch to supply our VMware servers with network access (2810-24G). Port 12 on the Cisco runs to Port 21 on the HP. Ports 1-12 on the HP are our Test VMware servers.
Cisco Port 12 config:
!
interface FastEthernet0/12
switchport access vlan 10
switchport trunk native vlan 10
spanning-tree portfast
!
interface Vlan10
ip address 10.10.20.253 255.255.255.0
no ip route-cache
!
ip default-gateway 10.10.20.254
HP VLAN 10 Config:
vlan 10
name "ServerData"
tagged 1-12,21,24
exit
My first though it is the "switchport trunk native vlan 10" on the Cisco since our native VLAN is still 1 on the HP. I am waiting for them to respond to a request to remove that so I can test my theory. Otherwise I am at a loss, I have not had to deal with HP, Cisco interconnectivity. Right now we are trying to ping 10.10.20.253 and .254 and have no luck so far. If you need anymore data let me know.

Re: Cisco 2960 to HP 2810-48g VLAN Issue
Since there are no "switchport mode trunk" command in the Cisco config my bet is that fa0/12 on the 2960 end is an access port and you need to have your vlan 10 untagged on port 21 on your HP.

Ok then you might wanna wait for your provider to help you troubleshoot. But I would leave vlan 10 untagged on port 21 :)
