Command to not generate message when an interrface goes up or down on an ArubaOS/ProVision based

Hi,

Does anybody know if there is a command that can be used to not generate a message (syslog and SNMP trap) when a specific interrface goes up or down on an ArubaOS (fka ProVision)-based Network device? This will be used for interfaces on a switch connected to end user devices. Our Network Management System receive messages every time the end user devices are rebooted, shutdown or powered up, and we do not want to care about these messages

These are the equivalent commands on (both at interface-level configuration);

HPE/H3C Comware: undo enable log updown

Cisco IOS: no logging event link-status

We are looking for a similar command for ArubaOS (fka ProVision)-based Network devices

What's about no snmp-server enable traps link-change <port-list> (where link-change applies when the link state of a port changes from up to down or vice-versa)?

Thanks a lot for your reply parnassus! This command should avoid the ArubaOS/Provision device to generate SNMP traps when the interfaces go up or down. However, what about if the NMS performs SNMP polling via SNMP get messages, or if the ArubaOS/Provision device sends syslog messages to the NMS? Are there any other commands to avoid that?

Hello,.

Maybe the OID eventtype can be useful. It can be used to supress some messages or specify if they will be sent as log as trap, log and trap or none. This can be set via the CLI of the switch using the CLI command setMIB eventtype as explained in the following documents.
