Corrupt firmware file message on 5406zl - management module faulty?
Hi,
I'm currently upgrading our 20+ 54xxzl switches here on campus and have just tried to upload K15_10_0022 on to one of our 5406zl's via a usb file transfer. I keep getting a 'corrupt file' error on this switch after the firmware has been loaded. I've tried loading older firmware but that too comes up with the same error. At first I thought it was either my usb stick dying or the file was actually corrupted but I have successfully managed to load firmware on to other switches via usb stick before and after trying the one above.
Does this mean that the management module might be on it's way out?
Currently the switch is at this version:
sh ver

K.15.07.0008

Looking at the firmware versions using 'sh flash' however shows the following:
sh flash
Image Size (bytes) Date Version
----------------- ------------ -------- --------------
Primary Image : No image loaded
Secondary Image : No image loaded
Boot ROM Version : K.15.28
Default Boot : Primary
which is rather worrying as according to this there is nothing running on the switch!
I have a management module hot spare that I'm preparing to swap over but this means a lot of disruption as we have around 17+ residential buildings connected to this switch. I would welcome an easier workaround if anyone has one?
Has anyone else encountered similar problems?
