I would like to create a distributed trunking between 2 x5406 switches to 2x6600. I have 2 10Gig modules in each 6600 switches which are connected to 5406 10gig. Currently I am using VRRP for in both 5406 switches which i would like to change to Distributed trunking so i can have 2 10Gig uplinks from 5406 to 6600 switches. Right now Spanning tree is blocking one of the uplinks to prevent loops but i would like to use both 10gig uplinks instead of one.
Do i have to stop using VRRP and then confgure the DTP?
What configuration will i have to do?

Re: Distributed Trunking between 5406zl & 6600 switches
For your first question, the answer is no, VRRP is Layer3 and has nothing to do with Layer2 link aggregation.
For your second question, I don't think distributed trunking is an option for you.
DT is where you create a single aggregated link between one switch and multiple remote switches.
So you can have one DT link from each 5400 to both 6600s (and vice-versa), but I don't believe you can have a DT with members in it that link all four switch in the way you describe.

Re: Distributed Trunking between 5406zl & 6600 switches
Hi Vince
Thanks for clarifying my queries. For the VRRP i got the point however what I was planning is to have a DTP between 5406 & 6600 switch to get both 10 GIG uplink utilized. I won be linking all 4 switches together in DTP as, if I can have both uplinks from 6600 to 5406 running in DTP i will be glad.
I have attached a network drawing which is currently my scenerio.
