Hello everyone,
I have already configured Distributed Trunking between two Aruba JL072A 3810M-48G-1-slot switches.
OS Running is KB.16.10.0007.
The switch-interconnect link is currently a Trunk using 2x1G ports on each switch (Trk10 on both switches) plus another 1G link between them for keepalive purposes.
I have recently purchased two Aruba JL083A 4SFP+ Modules and 10G SFP+ modules for each switch.
Is it possible to add the 10G ports in the existing trunk (Trk10)?
So Trk10 would have 2x1G + 1x10G ports?
If not, then is it possible to configure a second InterSwitch-Connection between the switches, that will use the 10G ports (say Trk100), and fallback to Trk10 in case it fails? something like ...
switch-interconnect trk10 priority 1
switch-interconnect trk100 priority 2
If not, is there any way to prefer the 10G link and fallback to the 1G links in case the 10G fails?

SolutionHello,
It is not possible to configure a second interswitch connect between 2 switches. When you enter the command switch-interconnect for the second time, the second interface value will overwrite the first one. In your example the interswitch connect will be only trk100 and not both trk10 and 100 at the same time. This can be verified quickly with "show distributed-trunking config" like this
SW3(config)# switch-interconnect trk3
SW3(config)# show distributed-trunking config
Distributed Trunking Information
Switch Interconnect (ISC) : Trk3
Admin Role Priority : 32768
System ID :
DT trunk :
DT lacp :
SW3(config)# switch-interconnect trk4
SW3(config)# show distributed-trunking config

The CLI allows you to add ports of different nedia type and speed to the same trunk group however this is not recommended and not supported according to the Aruba Management and Configuration Guide.

Link connections
The switch does not support port trunking through an intermediate, non-trunking device such as a hub,or using more than onemedia type in a port trunk group. Similarly, for proper trunk operation, all links in the same trunk group must have the same speed, duplex, and flow control.
