Downgrading HP Procurve Software

Folks,

I have a quick question about downgrading software. When we receive new switches and we downgrade them to our standard code level the boot rom tends to stay at the version that comes with the initial code. It doesn't appear to downgraded to the boot rom that is supplied with the older code. 

Does this pose a problem? Is the boot rom backward compatible with older code? 

Mind you, I'm talking about going from code K.15.06 to K.14.09.0019m. Not a huge leap, but the unchaning boot rom has me concerned.

This is not supported, also stated in the release notes. You will end up in s state where a recovery is needed and you will spend time on the phone with HP to get this sorted.

My advice is not to downgrade.
