I've switch with fiber module as indicated in subject. Firmware is Y.11.16

I must upgrade a multimode structure based on 100fx fiber and media converter and other switch (not HP).

When i connect fiber port with fiber patch on the structure the leds on module not light on.

On monday i will try to connect two J4858C modules.

Question is: can i connect a 1000FX module with a fiber switch or media-converter based on 100FX port?

no, will not work.

will need to do gigabit fiber to gigabit fiber or 100FX to 100FX.

could get a transition media converter for a 100TX on E2510  to 100FX on far side over multimode fiber
