Any word/speculation on successors to the E6600/3500 products in the near future?

these are the E 3800tland you have also the 2620 replacing the E 2610 series

Is there a document which gives a quick overview of the differences between the 3500 & 3800 series?

I also must confess some bewilderment as to why HP are bothering to release new 10/100 switches, especially ones which do static & RIP routing but without ACLs.
