Enable Ghostcast on VLANs on ProCurve 8212zl

Hi we have a HP ProCurve 8212zl switches with several VLANs as

VLAN 10 - IT Support vlan

VLAN 20 - Staff vlan

VLAN 10 has all the Servers plus the Symantec Ghostcast Server.

VLAN 20 has all the staff computers.

What do I need to do in the switch so that computers on Staff vlan can connect to the Ghostcast session on Symantec Ghost Server on vlan 10.

I can successfully connect the ghostcast session from the test computers on the VLAN 10 but computers on vlan 20 cannot connect at all.

Help will be much appreciated.

Hi,

Can you tell us how your ghostcast client connect to the server, is it broadcast or multicast ?

In the first case you will need to activate a Layer-3 multicast routing protocol.

In the second case you will need to configure direct-brodcast features or try an ip helper-address.
