HP 2920 and HP 2530 Trunking Issues

Hello All,

This is my first post in HP forum and I need some help regarding trunking

I am configuring a trunk between HP 2920 and HP 2530 switches. 2920 is a layer 3 and 2530 is a layer 2. Have couple of vlans for data, voice, mgmt. After enabling the trunks I can ping each switches fine. Trunks are up and active. I have connected a DHCP server on layer 3 switch port 1 and server is pingable from layer 3.

My issue is from layer 2 I am unable to ping the DHCP server. I need to make it work so that the DHCP can handout ip address to PC's/Phones's connected to layer 2.

Funny thing is I made it work  2 weeks back and without saving the config I rebooted the devices. All my configs are gone :(  now I need your help guys. I have attached the configs.

Thank you

Re: HP 2920 and HP 2530 Trunking Issues

Hi Sicilian85,

Can you confirm which IP/VLAN you are pinging from on the 2530 and what you have the Default Gateway set to on the device you are pinging from?

Your config looks good. You have the 3 VLANs setup untagged on the ports and your trunk is tagged for them so traffic shoud happily flow back to the 2920 on all 3 VLANs. The ip routing is enabled and tagging looks fine on that switch too.
