HP 2920 stacking technology - Anyone have a good startup config?
We are looking for a reference stacking startup configuration for our stack of 4 2920's.
It is my understanding it is a version of the 3800 stacking technology.
Like other stacking technology, the startup config is important.
My question is simple.
If you are using STP/RSTP/MSTP - would it not be wise to set this up on the startup configuration so that a loop does not take out the switch before it can join the stack?
What other features are important to load into the startup configuration "Pre-stacking" mode to ensure resilience.
Do any stacking configurations ever propogate back down to the startup configurations of each switch?
Let's say you are doing MSTP, if you forget to enable STP loop protection and a loop occurs this could cause the stack member to never join the stack or crash suddenly during the joining process or worst propogate traffic into the stack for short period of time.
What is the best way to alter the startup configuration of each switch once the switch has joined the stack? It seems if you isolate the switch (remove stacking cables, reboot), the isolated switch faults to STACKING specific boot mode with limited functionality.
Do you have to clear the switch configuration to get back to back to its startup configuration?
If anyone cares to share their startup configuration (per switch) and running-configuration (post join of stack) that would be fantastic.

New version of firmware Dated July 23 - tons of fixes. Not available on the website yet.
Does anyne have an ftp of the 15.3 firmware for the 2920?
