HP 2920 switch stack issue
Hello all,
I was wondering if someone could shed some light on this perculiar issue I am having. I have 2x 2920s in a stack that appears to be having two issues.
Firstly, when I do a "show run", only ports 1/1-1/24 are shown and not the remaining 48 ports on the secondary switch. However, if I am to run the command "show spanning-tree" all ports are shown.
Secondly, we are having an issue when this switch stack is connected directly to another single switch on our campus, they will not communicate with each other. If I put an unmanaged switch between the switch stack and the single switch, they are then able to communicate.
I am unsure as to whether the first issue directly affects the second issue or not.
Any help would be appreciative!
Thanks.

Re: HP 2920 switch stack issue
I think we need to see your "show run" in order to comment.

Re: HP 2920 switch stack issue
I can see your ports 2/1-48 are all in there, untagged in VLAN1 + tagged in all other VLANs.
If the other switch "won't communicate", it's probably because the VLAN tagging doesn't match up.
What are the details of the connection attempt that "won't communicate"?
Your uplink port (1/24) is untagged in VLAN1, tagged in VLAN11.
What VLAN(s) configured on the switchport you are patching it to?

Re: HP 2920 switch stack issue
I also think that the miscommunication will almost definitely be a VLAN issue. The main issue that I am struggling to find any kind of resolution to is that in the show run, only one switches interfaces are being shown and the other switch is being missed off.

Re: HP 2920 switch stack issue
The interfaces seem to be in there fine:
vlan 1 name "DEFAULT_VLAN" untagged 1/1-1/24,1/A1-1/A2,1/B1-1/B2,2/1-2/48,2/A1-2/A2,2/B1-2/B2 ip address 10.50.1.253 255.255.0.0 ip helper-address 10.72.254.10 exit vlan 11 name "VLAN11" tagged 1/1-1/24,2/1-2/48 no ip address ip helper-address 10.72.254.10 voice exit
