HP E2910 al VLAN & Trunking
I have a 2910al-24G procurve switch that we are trying to create trunk ports for our VMware ESXi servers and I'm just looking for verification that I've done this correctly...
After setting up all the VLAN's that will be passed though this switch, I've created Trunk Groups Trk1 & Trk5 and assigned the Trunk Groups to the correct VLANs. The Uplink ports 23 & 24 are Tagged on all the VLANs. We have six other VLANs that flow though that switch to our ESXi servers. VLAN-2, VLAN-9, VLAN-10, VLAN-11, VLAN-128 and VLAN-510. Each of these VLANs are Tagged for the same Trunk Group as the Uplink ports Trk1 and three are tagged with Trk5. The three VLAN Trunk Groups are Tagged because that is the only way I could Tag Multiple VLANs with the same Trunk Group.
After I've done this I will have connectivity issues with our ESXi servers connected to those VLANs. Should I be creating Trunk Groups for those VMware ESXi severs or should I just leave the ports separate and tag them on the VLANs that will be going to those ports?
Thanks
Kevin
