HP Procurve 2848 vlan interfaces doesn't respond to ping.There is a problem with tagged vlan carried over FC link.

FC = fibre channel?

Log into the 2848 and make sure it can ping its own VLAN interfaces. As long as they are responding, then you are likely to have misconfigured your VLANs on the inter-switch link interfaces.

For a quick win on inter-switch VLAN tagging, turn on GVRP on both switches. I don't understand why more people don't use GVRP; it really does save a lot of time and effort.

I second Paul on this. GVRP makes life a lot easier!
