HP ProCurve 2910al-48G stacking with HP ProCurve 2920
Hello,
We have 2 HP switchi 2910al-48G switches connected with each other with 10GbE-CX4 module.
We want to add 3-rd 48 port switch HP ProCurve 2920.
Is it possible to stack 2910al and 2920 with 10GbE-CX4 module?
Thanks in advance,
Maxim

Re: HP ProCurve 2910al-48G stacking with HP ProCurve 2920
Hello,
the short answer is NO.
There is no choice of CX4 modules for 2920. And al modules from 2910 are not compatible in 2920.
Actually 2910al does not support true stacking, only single IP management "stack" so your connection in fact is only 10Gb interconnection. 2920 supports true stacking through dedicated stacking modules.
If you need to connect 2910al with 2920 through 10Gb the only way is to have 10Gb SFP+ modules in both switches and connect via optic or DAC cables.
BR,
Jan
