HP procurve 5406xl mesh packet response loss

Ok we have 6 5406 swithces that are configured in a MESH.  One building will lose access to a server in the main building.  As soon as i ping that server from the switch in the main bulding i can then ping from the switch in the other building.  All of htese devices reside on the same subnet and not vlans.  Every other server in the main building can be pigned while this is going on. The only strange thign is this server is a suse linux box.  nay direction with thisissue would be appreciated.

If you want to get to the bottom of this, we'll need a lot more information.  Here's a suggested process to follow:

1. Pick two test PCs: one working and one not
2. Save the routing & ARP tables from the two PCs and the server, and the logs and routing, ARP, & MAC address tables from the two switches.
3. Ping the server from the working PC; save routing & ARP tables for this PC & the server, and all info from both switches again.
4. Ping the server from the non-working PC; save routing & ARP tables for this PC & the server, and all info from both switches again.
5. Do the ping from the switch which you have found solves the problem; save all info from the switches and server again.
6. Repeat the tests in points 3 & 4 again, including saving all the info.  Can you now ping the server from the previously non-working PC?  If so, compare the files produced in step 4 with the files produced in this step.

Hope that points you in the direction of the right info to solve the problem.
