Intermittent Network outages

Hi,

We are experiencing strange network glitches on our network.

Core is all HP with combination of 4208vl and 2900

Network has been stable for nearly 5 years now but since Jan we started experiencing network glitches, 1 in 3 weeks or 1 in a month. Since last 3 weeks network glitches have increased and now we see something like 4-12 network glitches daily.

Chap who designed our network is no longer with the company, STP setup doesn't look right to me with all defaults.

Issue has now become critical, any help is highly appreciated.

If you need help urgently, you need to help us help you by providing complete information.

In this case, if you suspect STP issues, post the configuration of your switches, the output of 'show spanning-tree', and the output of 'show log'.

...and while you are working towards a resolution, disable your redundant links, one at a time, until you are happy with the STP configuration for those links.
