MAC Address not captured on switch ports
I would expect to see all devices MAC addresses displayed in switch interface, as per this
But I do not see on some ports like per this
And the only way I can find them is to ping IP
and then show arp
Which is not always ideal
Any ideas why? Is it a bug?
Procurve WB_16_05_0007 on HP 2920
I really cannot figure out the numbering of the firmware WB.16.0X

Re: MAC Address not captured on switch ports
Hi There,
Do these ports have port-security enabled ?
Also, even though this very behavior doesn't show up as a bug the software release WB.16.05.0007 is old and quite a few new releases have come up. You may consider doing an upgrade to a newer version and see if the issue gets eliminated.

Re: MAC Address not captured on switch ports
Updated to WB_16_08_0003
Not much difference
port-security is at default (it was explicitly not touched)

Re: MAC Address not captured on switch ports
Can you share the configuration (sanitized)?
Or yourself can check the mac aging timer, if that is set to too low.

Re: MAC Address not captured on switch ports
I do not have mac-age-time configured explicitly, so whatever defaults are
