Multicast filtering / suppression on 8200zl
We are migrating off of an old Enterasys switch to an 8212zl. We have a Microsoft server cluster that uses network load balancing (NLB) multicast packets. It is our understanding that multicast packets are not normally stored in the arp cache and are the switch will flood the packets out all ports of the switch.
On the Enterasys switch, we had to add configuration to define and suppress the 03-bf-78-00-00-09 address (the address from from the NLB) from other switch ports. Basically we want to contain the multicast packets to the switch ports that the blade server (NLB) is connected to because we found that the multicast traffic caused all sorts of performance issues on the network with the Enterasys switch.
Do I need to What can we do in ProVision so that the multicast packets are only send out the appropriate ports?

Re: Multicast filtering / suppression on 8200zl
Enable "ip igmp" on a per-VLAN basis.
