OSPF Support on e3500 yl
Does the 3500-48G-PoE yl Switch (J8693A) support OSPFv2? I'm running K.15.06.0008 and when I enter "router ospf" in the global config I get a "Invalid input" return. Do I need to upgrade the switch to a pro version of the firmware or is it not supported at all?

Re: OSPF Support on e3500 yl
I think I found the information but want to confirm this. It appears a premium license is needed, is that correct?

Correct, premium license is needed for OSPF.

Re: OSPF Support on e3500 yl
If you only recently purchased the switch, contact your sales channel about getting a license for free. HP supposedly removed all additional licensing fees on switches last year sometime.

Re: OSPF Support on e3500 yl
Hi,
free license are included only with chassis based provision switches (5400zl a 8200zl). If you want to use premium features on 3500yl a 6600 switches you still have to buy premium license.

Thanks Jan, that's good to know. I was under the mistaken impression that it was across the board that licensing had been eliminated.

Re: OSPF Support on e3500 yl
Hi Paul,
what I know this should be the general way and policy that all HP switches will have full feature set without need to buy licenses but don't know when it should be. Obviously chassis switches are license free but stackable provision switches still are not.
