Prioritising based on DSCP tag on 2510 (J9020A)

Hi all

I have about 50 users over three 2510 switches that are using softphones, not hard phones, for voip. 

The softphone client supports DSCP (value 46). 

At our other sites we have hard phones with vlans, and that works a treat. 

Does anyone have any advice on how to enable DSCP prioritisation on procurves?

Check out the management and configuration guide for the 2510 - it explains how to enable DSCP passthrough mode.

Would that be the "qos-passthrough-mode" setting? If so when you say enabling it, should it be set to optimised (which seems to be the default) or typical (which isn't the default) ?

Hi Olly,

The doco i've got for the 2510 has only "qos-passthrough-mode" and "no qos-passthrough-mode".  Perhaps they changed this in more recent versions - the release notes might have more info.
