Procurve 2530 and 3800 strange internet connections
Hi,
I was configuring a new network with 2 3800 switches and 2 2530 switches. Did a basic setup, some vlans and the ip default gateway. IP address for vlan 1. The hooked up a the firewall to do some testing to the internet.
I am now seeing some strange connections from the switches to some ip addresses on the internet. All test PCs are disconnected, only the switches and the firewall are on this network.
Both 3800 switches (software version KA.15.14.0007) are doing a ping every 20 minues to ip address 60.139.57.0.
Both 2530 switches (software version YA.15.14.0007) are doing a ping every 20 minutes to ip address 7.101.119.204 and 7.101.115.52. The address in the 60 range is sime Japanese IP address (when you do a whois lookup). The other two in the 7 range are in te US. A whois lookup on these shows they are DoD adresses.
This worries me alot, especiallu the last 2.
Anybody have an idea why this happens?
Regards,
Guy
