Procurve 2810 error or SFP error?
I have 2 2810 switches interconnected with a TRUNK of 2 FiberSFP (LX LC). Recently, i get CRC errors when transferring large files over this link. I have the error on BOTH ports of the Trunk. If i disable a port, i get the CRC errors on the enabled port and vice versa.
I already changed patchcables but that doesn't help.
Do i have a defective switch or do i have 2 defective SFP's??
I already rewired everyting over copper and that is working fine. So the error is only at the SFP side (of the minigbic ports).
I could buy 2 new SFP's (640€ per piece), but if i findout afterwards that this doesn't solve the problem i loose more than 1000€....
Do i still have other options?
Regards.

Re: Procurve 2810 error or SFP error?
Hi,
It seems unlikely that you would have two defective SFPs (although quite possible). What type of fibre are you using and what length is it running over? When you say large files, what transfer rates are you getting over the links?
The easiest thing you can do is log it with HP. They should suggest a few tests and send you replacement set of SFPs if they think the fault is with them so it won't cost you anything.
