Procurve 4108gl unable to access via serial

I'm having an issue with connecting to a 4108gl switch that I have here via serial cable. I have to female-to-female serial cable that I am using and I am using HyperTerminal.

Here are my settings:

BAUD: 9600

Data bits: 8

Parity: None

Stop bits: 1

Flow control: None

It "connects" but displays nothing on the terminal. I have treid with both HyperTerminal and Putty. Is this a problem with the switch or possibly the serial cable?

Hi JD86,

Is the cable you're using the one that was shipped with the switch? If not, it might be that it's simply the wrong pinout.

The easiest way to work out what's going on is to try the same cable on another switch, and another cable on the same switch. All ProCurves with 9-pin RS-232 sockets should use the same console cable, so it doesn't have to be an identical model.
