Protected ports and VLANs

I know, going back to the old 2524 switches, that protected ports and VLANs did not play well together. Details were vague, but HP specifically warned against such a configuration.

Is that still the case now? We have a 2520G-24 and would like to use both protected ports and VLANs on it.

Usually we would go with a 2620 or something with port filtering but that's not an option this time. Thanks a lot.

Re: Protected ports and VLANs

If you do a search in the legacy ITRC section of this forum (or Google for same), you should find a thread on exactly this topic. Also check the Access Security Guide for the switch in question.

Re: Protected ports and VLANs

A search for "itrc vlan protected ports" didn't turn anything up, so if you know a thread please post a link!

2520 ASG says nothing about VLANs in the protected ports section, so I assume it should be okay. The only reason I thought it might be a problem is because previous HP switches had such a limitation.
