QoS on a 5406zl
Hi all,
we need to adapt Cisco QoS Config (2960X/ 4500X) to a 5406zl switch.
Example for an 2960X Cisco Switch:
################################################
mls qos
mls qos queue-set output 1 buffers 15 30 35 20
mls qos queue-set output 1 threshold 1 100 100 100 100
mls qos queue-set output 1 threshold 2 80 90 100 400
mls qos queue-set output 1 threshold 3 100 100 100 400
mls qos queue-set output 1 threshold 4 60 100 100 400
mls qos srr-queue output cos-map queue 1 threshold 3 4 5
mls qos srr-queue output cos-map queue 2 threshold 1 2
mls qos srr-queue output cos-map queue 2 threshold 2 3
mls qos srr-queue output cos-map queue 2 threshold 3 6 7
mls qos srr-queue output cos-map queue 3 threshold 3 0
mls qos srr-queue output cos-map queue 4 threshold 3 1
mls qos srr-queue output dscp-map queue 1 threshold 3 32 40 46
mls qos srr-queue output dscp-map queue 2 threshold 1 16 18 20 22
mls qos srr-queue output dscp-map queue 2 threshold 1 26 28 30 34 36 38
mls qos srr-queue output dscp-map queue 2 threshold 2 24
mls qos srr-queue output dscp-map queue 2 threshold 3 48 56
mls qos srr-queue output dscp-map queue 3 threshold 3 0
mls qos srr-queue output dscp-map queue 4 threshold 1 8
mls qos srr-queue output dscp-map queue 4 threshold 2 10 12 14
interface giga x/x/x
queue-set 1
srr-queue bandwidth share 1 40 45 15
priority-queue out
mls qos trust dscp
################################################
This should be applied to a HP 5406zl switch. I'm looking for sample configs or a useful documentation.
Thanks
Udo

Re: QoS on a 5406zl
Hello,
There is very fresh article with a lot of useful switch QoS information but only avaiable on the Arubapedia site, you can search it by title:
"Understanding QoS in ArubaOS-Switch"
Which PVOS version do you have?

Re: QoS on a 5406zl
The main thing you need to look out for is that in HP, by default and in their manuals they map RTP packets to IP Precedence 6 instead of 5.
So when you have traffic coming from HP to a Cisco, RTP ends up in a lower-priority queue.
