Question on Redundant Network Setup for HP Procurve
Hi,
We have 2pc. HP 3800 switches and 3pc. 2620 switches.
We configured the HP 3800 for VRRP, then connected the 2 core switch using LACP.
Then we connected the 1st uplink of HP2620 to Core1 (HP 3800) and other link of HP2620 to Core2 (HP3800).
What can you advice for the redundancy? I am planning to use MSTP
Or is meshing the two Core switch then combining it with MSTP is more appropriate?
Does MSTP work if my uplink port from HP2620 to Core1 is LACP and my uplink port from HP2620 to Core2 is also LACP? (Just in case I use 4 uplink ports and divide it between the two core switch.)
Will the trunk group be blocked if it causes a loop?
Last question,
Just want to ask if this is possible, I would like to configure my 2 uplink port on HP 2620 to trk1 lacp, then put 1 link to Core1 and configure a single port for lacp and the other link to Core2 and configure a single port lacp. Is this setup possible and will not cause any loops if I used the setting to the 3 HP 2620 switches? will my VRRP still work?
Thanks
Having the below topology.
(VRRP Owner) (VRRP Backup)
HP3800(Core1) =========== HP3800(Core2)

Re: Question on Redundant Network Setup for HP Procurve
Why not get the 40Gb stacking modules + stacking cables in each 3800, and then VRRP is not required at all?

Re: Question on Redundant Network Setup for HP Procurve
Hi,
Our budget is limited that is why we were not able to include the stacking module.
That is why I am working on what I have for now.
Thanks
