Questions about the implementation of a voice vlan - Configuration ?
Hello,
I have a question concerning the establishment of a voice vlan on an existing architecture.
The architecture consists of two stacks 5500G interconnected by an aggregate link. In these cells, is attached a resilient link in 4800G (smartlink). On the 4800G switches are attached to the distribution (4500PWR) which are connected IP phones followed by the PC.
vlan 2 = Data
vlan 101 = voice vlan
two vlans are routed with DHCP relay for vlan 101.
I think applying this configuration at 4500PWR switches:
vlan 101
Voice name
voice vlan 101 enable
Port on my phone, I think applying this setup:
port link-type trunk
port trunk pvid 2
port trunk permit vlan 2 101
undo port trunk permit vlan 1
undo voice vlan mode auto
voice vlan enable
Question 1: The configuration you seem correct?
Where I ask myself questions, it is at my uplinks ports. What configuration should Iapply??
I thought this:
port link-type trunk
port trunk permit vlan 1 2 101 (1 for managing the switch, 2 for data and 101 for voice)
Should I apply the command "voice vlan enable " on these ports??
Question 2 :
What configuration should I do at my 5500G beyond the creation of voice vlan (101), routing intervlan, the DHCP relay and the spread of tagged VLANs on the ports?
Should I apply the command "voice vlan enable " on ports uplinks tagged??
What configuration should I do at my 4800G, beyond the creation of vlan 101 (voice vlan) and the spread of it?
Should I apply the command "voice vlan enable " on ports uplinks tagged??
Thank you in advance for your help.
Laetitia

Re: Questions about the implementation of a voice vlan - Configuration ?
I am not the best with Voice VLAN. But the company that installed our phone system has them set.
Voice vlan enabled - Yes.
