redundant network setup for hp 3800 switches
Hey Everyone,
I need some help with setting up a redundant links between a stackable 3800 switch and two patch panel switches which are 3800.
So what I have so far:
I have two trunks on the stackable switch:
trk1 1/1 & 2/1 LACP
trk2 1/2 & 2/2 LACP
On both of the patch panel switches I have trk1 ports 1 & 2 using LACP
When I turn on trk1 1/1 - I get traffic moving on the switch
When I turn on trk 2 2/2 - I get traffic moving on the other switch
When I turn on trk1 1/2 - I get traffic moving but then the switch blocks port 2/2
The event viewer tell me that it is being block by STP.
Any help with this would be great both HP support and myself are stump.

Re: redundant network setup for hp 3800 switches
I'm guessing that the "patch panel switches" are inter-connected.
Have you reduced your spanning-tree priority on the 3800 stack?
Put "descriptions" on your interfaces (eg, "Link to PP Switch1", etc...).
Then show us a copy of your switch config and a "show lldp inf rem" from the stacked 3800.
