Send VLAN trunk through one port?
Hi!
I am not very knowledgeable about setting up switches but need to figure out if we can configure a Procurve 2524 to send a trunk lan between two HP switches?
Our setup will consist of 4 switches, two HP Procurve 2524 and two Siemens switches. The siemens switches will be on each side of the Procurves and has two Vlan layers in addition to the trunk net.
We were wondering: can you send the trunk net over one port through the Procurves and out on the other side to a new siemens switch were we will split the trunk net up on several ports? (I know its ok with the siemens switch, but i am wondering about the procurves). Will one port then be dedicated for the trunk net?
hope somebody can help me with this!
With best regards,
takstein

Re: Send VLAN trunk through one port?
Are you thinking something like this: Siemens<-trunk->HP<-trunk->HP<->trunk<->Siemens? If so, absolutely.
