SFP (J4858B) not recognized by module (J8706A) on insert
Hi,
I've got two 8212 switches (fw K.15.10.0013m), both with two 24-ports SFP module (J8706A)
When I insert SFP (J4858B) in switch 1 in one of 24-ports modules, SPF is not recognized at all (type field is empty and not showing 1000SX as expected).
When I put the same SPF in switch 2, in the same type of module, SFP is recognized as expected.
What can cause issue and how do I solve this, without restarting module or switch?
Kind regards,
Michael

Re: SFP (J4858B) not recognized by module (J8706A) on insert
Hi Michael,
Are both your SFP port modules v2? A (B) transceiver is quite an old revision now. See below Matrix table for compatibility...
I take it no matter which SFP port you plug the transceiver in to on Switch 1 it is not recognised?
HTH
