SFP+ to RJ45

Hi. I have an ISCSI storage controller with dual 10GB RJ45 connectors that I want to connect to a C7000 chassis with 10GB SFP ethernet modules. Does anybody know of an SFP+ to RJ45 tranciever or pre terminated cable I could use?

Re: SFP+ to RJ45

No. You can't use SFP+ ports for copper except with a DAC cable, which isn't going to work in your storage controller.

Re: SFP+ to RJ45

You can put in a 1Gb RJ45 transceiver into many SFP+ ports (not all - check the Quickspecs), but that will only give you 1Gb. I have not see a 10Gb SFP+ 10GT transceiver. I have heard rumours that they are exist, but I think there are issues with the MSA spec and PHY support (mostly to do with power) that make them non-standard at present.

Re: SFP+ to RJ45

Take another switch which does the conversion, e.g.: D-Link DXS-1210-12TS, ~850,-€ incl. taxes
