show mesh traceroute mac-address killed the switch E3500yl J8692A Switch

Today we completely lost connection to the switch and whole location after this command was used: "show mesh traceroute mac-address". There is indeed no mesh but we were trying to track down the source of a mac address. The switch somehow pushed the rest of the neighbour switches to the brink that all where not reachable.

The traceroute should actually just timeout without killing  the switch, no?
